A budget that leaves room to breathe.

A practical way to connect your priorities to the numbers, before you start booking.

Begin with your own ceiling.

A wedding budget is a decision about your circumstances. Start with an amount you can comfortably commit, including any confirmed help. A national average cannot tell you what is right for your celebration.

Keep your honeymoon, rings, pre-wedding events, and wedding-day expenses clearly separated if they draw from different pots. Decide what your total includes before comparing quotes.

Decide where you want to spend.

Choose up to three things that matter most to you both. They may be food, photography, music, accessibility, or simply having everyone together. Allocate toward those priorities before filling the remaining categories.

Our budget tool offers an illustrative starting split. Replace its suggestions with actual quotes as they arrive. It is a planning aid, not a claim about typical prices.

Compare the complete quote.

A headline price may leave out costs that change the comparison. Ask each supplier for an itemized total based on the same guest count and timing.

  • Taxes, service charges, and any separate gratuity
  • Delivery, setup, collection, and travel
  • Rentals, staffing, overtime, and cleanup
  • Minimum spends and what changes if numbers fall

Separate planned, committed, and paid.

A budget allowance is not a contract. Keep the amount you expect to spend separate from the amount you have committed to and the payments already made. Record each remaining payment date as soon as you book.

Leave a reserve for changes instead of assigning every dollar on day one. Revisit the total together when a quote changes, with a clear choice about what to adjust elsewhere.

ONE THING TO TAKE WITH YOU

Ask for complete totals, preserve a reserve, and update your plan whenever a commitment changes.
